HOW TO PLAY — TEXAS HOLD'EM
THE BASICS
Everyone gets 2 private hole cards. Then 5 community cards are dealt face-up in the middle. Make the best 5-card poker hand using any mix of your hole cards and the community cards.
BLINDS
The two players left of the dealer post forced bets automatically: the small blind (
10) and the big blind (20). Action starts left of the big blind.
THE 4 BETTING ROUNDS
- PRE-FLOP — you get your 2 hole cards, first betting round.
- FLOP — one card is burned (mucked face-down), then 3 community cards are dealt.
- TURN — one card burned, then 1 more community card.
- RIVER — one card burned, then the final community card.
YOUR ACTIONS
- CHECK — pass without betting (only when nobody has bet yet).
- CALL — match the current bet.
- RAISE — increase the bet; everyone else must match or fold.
- FOLD — throw your hand away and sit this one out.
- ALL-IN — bet every chip you have.
SHOWDOWN
After the final betting round, everyone still in shows their cards. The best 5-card hand wins the pot. Tied hands split it evenly.
