Signing in with Google
If you sign in with Google, the service receives your name, your email address, and your Google account ID. These are used for one purpose: recognizing your account so your chats, saved items, tasks, settings, and subscription status follow you between devices. The service does not receive your Google password. Sign-in alone grants no access to any other Google service; mail access exists only if the separate, optional Gmail connection below is switched on.
Connecting Gmail (optional)
Connecting Gmail is optional and separate from signing in. If a user connects Gmail in iRIS Voice's settings, the service can — only when that user asks in chat — search and read that user's own mailbox, summarize what is waiting, and prepare an email for sending. An email is sent only after the user sees the exact draft on screen and confirms it. No other account's mail is reachable: each connection reaches only the mailbox of the person who connected it.
iRIS Voice's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Concretely: Gmail data is used only to provide the user-facing features described here, in direct response to that user's own requests. It is never sold, never used for advertising, never used to train generalized AI or machine-learning models, and never read by a human except with the user's explicit consent, for security investigation, or where the law requires. Gmail data is not transferred to anyone else except as needed to provide the feature the user asked for, for security, or where the law requires.
The access token is stored on the service's server, encrypted, against that user's account. Disconnecting Gmail in settings deletes the stored access and asks Google to revoke the grant; the grant can also be removed at any time from the user's Google account permissions page. Disconnecting stops all mail access immediately.
What is stored
Account data created in the apps — chats, saved stories, tasks, game and reading progress, preferences, and notification subscriptions — is stored on the service's server so the apps can work. In iRIS Voice, that also includes facts she remembers from your conversations, which you can see and delete in the app, and a list of topics you show interest in, which shapes your news feed and which you can see and reset in the app. Photos you choose to edit or ask about are processed to carry out the edit or answer you requested.
AI features
When a question or photo task is submitted in iRIS Voice, the content of that request is sent to the AI service providers the app uses, solely to generate the response requested. When iRIS Voice searches the web for you, she uses the service's own search engine first; if it cannot answer, the search words may be sent to DuckDuckGo, Bing, or Google News to complete the search.
Payments
Premium subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Payment details go to Stripe and are never stored on the service's server. Only subscription status is kept, so paid features can be unlocked.
Sharing
Personal information is not sold. It is not shared with third parties except the service providers named above, and only to operate features you use. Notifications are delivered through the push service of your device's platform (Apple, Google, or Mozilla) with the message content encrypted. If you use iRIS Voice through Discord, those messages are handled by Discord under Discord's own privacy policy.
On your device
The apps keep settings and a local copy of your data in browser or home-screen app storage so they open fast and work offline. Signing out removes the sign-in from that device; the local copy stays until the app or its site data is removed.
Your choices
The apps can be used without signing in; in that mode your data is stored under that device's own identity — including its backup copy on the service's server — and is not linked to any account. To have an account and its stored data deleted, write to the contact below.
